2023

Genome Canada launched the Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP) seeking proposals which focus on the partnerships of receptors and academia and to promote the application of genomics-derived solutions to address key sector challenges or opportunities facing receptors. The GAPP projects have the potential to generate significant social and/or economic benefits for Canada.

APPLICATION PROCESS

This is an application process that consists of an Expression of Interest (EOI), a teleconference pitching session and a supplementary proposal.

In order to better prepare projects for this program, Génome Québec will complete a due diligence review of the EOIs prior to the submission to Genome Canada. EOIs will be reviewed by an external Review Panel. Applicants will be required to present their commercial or implementation case to the Review Panel at which time they will be evaluated for eligibility and alignment with GAPP guidelines. All applicants will receive feedback on their EOIs including gaps and areas for improvement.

After submission of the final EOI to Genome Canada, applicants will proceed to the pitch step to present their project to Genome Canada’s external expert committee. Following this assessment, Genome Canada will notify applicants if they are invited to submit a supplementary proposal.

Applicants invited to submit a supplementary proposal will undergo a second due diligence review at Génome Québec. Constructive feedback will be provided at this time before submission to Genome Canada.

DEADLINES

A 30-week round is launched three times per year. For each round, the process below is the same, starting with the EOI submission to Génome Québec and ending with the Notice of Award letters approved by the Board of Genome Canada.
