Description

This technology enables the genotyping of microsatellite markers, which are highly effective for mapping Mendelian-type inherited trait genes, due to their highly informative content compared with SNPs.

Markers are amplified individually and then grouped into sets of two to eight. Genotyping results are obtained using an ABI-3730XL DNA analyzer.

Department staff can help with the selection, grouping and ordering of microsatellite markers.
