Description

Agena® iPLEX® Gold  genotyping technology is ideal for medium-scale projects (SNP validation studies and fine mapping) when five or more hundred bi-allelic markers such as SNPs and indels (insertion/deletion polymorphisms) need to be genotyped on hundreds or thousands of DNA samples. The major advantage of this technology is its flexibility, since there are no restrictions on the type of SNPs that can be genotyped.

The genotyping reaction is based on multiplex PCR followed by template-directed single base extension (SBE). The extension products are then separated and detected by mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS).
