Following scientific community consultations, the Oncopole has decided to prioritize training of doctoral students in bioinformatics in Quebec. To that end, the Oncopole has made a commitment to add to the doctoral awards offered by the FRQS in that discipline in 2019.

Applicants from Quebec or from outside Quebec who wish to pursue doctoral training in bioinformatics /cancer research in a Quebec laboratory will be offered a $15,000 supplement for the first two years and a $10,000 supplement for the 3rd year. That amount is in addition to the $21,000 offered annually by the FRQS, which would bring the award to up to $36,000 per year.
