Génome Québec is pleased to announce a call for proposals targeting the next generation in genomics – health as part of the next Rendez-Vous Génome Québec which will be held on November 7 and 8, 2023 in Montreal.
This competition seeks to encourage genomics research amongst young researchers and promote access to Génome Québec’s technology platforms.
A single $25,000 award is available for a project, or a specific activity aligned with the following objectives:
- The proposed project is based on genomics and human health.
- The project is focused and likely to advance the knowledge in the field.
The prize awarded will be an ‘’in-kind’’ contribution of $25,000 in services from the Génome Québec Center of Expertise and Services, redeemable during the 2024 calendar year.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applications can be submitted by:
- One early career researcher affiliated since less than 5 years with a public research institution in Québec (university, college, hospital, or an institution with a research mandate). The researcher may only submit one application.
- Projects must be related to human health.
- Projects must propose to use one of the omic technologies offered by the Génome Québec Center of expertise and services (genomic, epigenomic, metagenomic, transcriptomic, etc.), For the complete list: Centre d’expertise et de services | GénomeQuébec inc. (genomequebec.wp.vortexdev.com)
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application must be sent by email to cciurli@genomequebec.wp.vortexdev.com. The application deadline is October 11th, 2023, at noon (12:00PM EST).
A short oral presentation of the proposed project is planned for the finalists and the announcement of the recipient will take place during the Rendez-Vous Génome Québec on November 8, 2023.
